CEPAK GMBH—Toolprotect—Booth B6.229
In tree maintenance, lifting platforms are frequently used. Working with motor chainsaws at lofty heights is fraught with high risks if the saws cannot be safely stored in the work basket. Toolprotect has developed a universal fixture for motor saws, which can be mounted temporarily and without tools in the workbasket so that the saw can be put down safely and comfortably during transport or work breaks. This is a great contribution to safety at work in this sector.
David Dominicus—Booth B6.127
The most widespread cause of accident in the forest is stumbling and slipping on smooth wet wood. In such situations, ordinary soles only provide insufficient grip. Meindl has responded to these new requirements and designed a completely new sole. The black outer rim is hard and sharp-edged and provides optimum grip. As in the case of winter tires, integrated movable slats ensure good contact with the ground. The inner sole area consists of a soft rubber mix, which also forms the strong bridge profiling. The latter provides good lateral grip without limiting the rollover behavior. As of now, the new sole developed by Meindl is used in all forestry safety shoes. Meindl’s top model, the Airstream Rock, even has one additional feature: the shoe sole (here orange-colored) contains incorporated aluminum splinters that bite themselves into the wood like a wire brush.
DRAYER Fachhandel—Booth FM.710A/9

Grube KG—Booth B6.127
Since March 1, 2018, there is a new, separate standard for the ground traction mode in the forest. Up to know, slings—including those used in the forest—were subject to the provisions for the lifting range with the definitions of the Working Load Limit (WLL). As a result, overly heavy slings were frequently required, but rarely used. The present changes apply to all slings used behind cable winches, such as pulleys, tree towing ropes and round slings. The new standard regulates security factors, markings and user instructions to be affixed in a uniform manner. The definitions now applicable to the ground traction mode in the forest are referred to as Forest Tractive Force (FTF). At the booth of the Grube company, complete, matched sling systems will be presented (these slings can be seen at the KWF [Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology] at the same time). A special highlight is a uniform color code, which signals to the user im-mediately, and unambiguously which slings are compatible with each other and which system the user must choose in relation to the maximum traction force of their cable winch.
Hargassner GmbH—Booth FS.1011/13
The Neo-HV wood log boiler has been developed and optimized based on the 1/2M wood log gasifier HV that comes in a new outfit, in addition to presenting new refinements. From the technological viewpoint, the new combustion control is one of the greatest innovations. The integrated induced draft housing with state-of-the-art EC motor ensures high electricity saving and energy efficiency. Moreover, there is another highlight in the pellet product line: as of now, the Nano-PK6-15.3 has two additional flue tube connections at the side and at the rear. This series is also available as Nano-PK PLUS—“PLUS” meaning + condensing boiler technology. By means of an additional Niro condensation heat exchanger, the temperature is reduced below the condensation point and condenses out again. The gained heat and the reduction of the exhaust gas temperature achieve a degree of efficiency that is higher by up to 10%, which leads to lower heating costs. Moreover, this condensation heat exchanger can be upgraded at any time.

The TC 624 crawler forwarder causes particularly little damage to soils thanks to four full-suspension running gears on rubber chains. With its load-bearing surface of more than 6 m², the vehicle causes an extremely low ground pressure of 0.35 bars even when it is fully loaded. Thanks to its good suspension, TC 624 offers high driving comfort and a stable driving behavior. In addition, the motor from MTU, which already fulfils the emission standard V, and the pioneering power-split transmission from Dana-Rexroth offer further important aspects to keep fuel consumption and exhaust emissions low. As 4R1000, the MTU motor has 170 kW and a maximum torque of 950Nm; in connection with the power-split transmission, the machine can speed up to 40 km/h.

KRD Sicherheitstechnik GmbH—Booth: B6.303
If the sawing chain breaks, the conditions in the cabin of a harvester may become extremely unpleasant: being hit by a ragged chain link has the same effects as being hit by a pistol bullet. Conventional silicate glass and safety glazing made of plastic (polycarbonate) are not robust enough to protect against such an impact—at least not the mono panes that have been used so far. In terms of cutting-edge safety technology, the technology leader KRD now offers polycarbonate composite panes, as they are known, in which (at least) two of these plastic “life insurances” for forest workers are firmly attached to each other. These panes respond in a clearly more flexible way to hefty impacts than simple mono panes and thus can neutralize the impact of a sawing chain link, among other things.
Koller Forsttechnik GmbH—Booth FM.709/2
The electric rope crane series ECKO comprises three performance levels developed for different application options. If it is merely about lifting objects uphill, ECKO UP offers an ideal price/performance level. By using our ECKO FLEX version, it is possible to lift objects uphill and downhill. With a bearing load of approximately 2 tons, it is suited to perform the most diverse tasks. ECKO BOOST, which is in the upper performance range, has a bearing load of approximately 4 tons and is therefore suitable for large-dimension timber. All electric rope cranes by Koller Forsttechnik are equipped with supercaps which are extremely durable and work reliably even at very low temperatures.
Komatsu Forest GmbH—Booth FM.711/5
With the Komatsu 901XC Harvester, Komatsu Forest presents the eight-wheel thinning harvester to the German public for the first time. The eight wheels ensure outstanding stability and excellent all-terrain mobility, besides causing only little ground pressure and therefore noticeably less damage to the soil. Due to the central arrangement of the crane and the cabin on one joint platform, the ground pressure is distributed, thereby achieving a low center of gravity. As far as the harvesters of the XC series are concerned, the swing rear axle of the six-wheel harvester is combined with a bogie, which leads to a unique double-swing bogie, making light work of rough terrain: the Komatsu Comfort Bogie.
Konrad Forsttechnik GmbH—Booth FM.813/3
Konrad Forsttechnik GmbH presents the combination of a tipping mast system and Woody on an excavator (CombiYarder) in Europe for the first ever. This system opens up new possibilities especially in the first and second thinning area in terrain that is difficult to access. Another highlight is the small version of Woody. Woody 40, which has a total weight of only 600 kg and a maximum felling diameter of 45 cm, is the ideal aggregate for small and medium-sized stands. In addition, the focus is on the six-wheel Highlander combined with a Woody 70-1. Woody 70-1 is very much in demand especially for large-dimension timber.
Logosol GmbH—Booth FM.713/3
Logosol F2 is the newest chain sawmill among the Logosol portable sawmills. It is developed and manufactured in Sweden. It can process trunks with a diameter of up to 60 cm without any problems. Stihl MS391, or the more powerful Stihl MS661, are suitable chainsaws for the F2 chain sawmill. Of course, other chainsaw brands are suited as well. It only takes a few minutes to mount and build up the chain sawmill in the yard or forest. F2 allows you to realize your own construction projects, ranging from seat benches and raised garden beds to woodsheds through to beautiful wood for carpenters, directly on site. This is possible due to the anodized aluminum structure, which is so light that it can be moved manually. The framework consists of one-meter sections that fit into the luggage compartment of a standard vehicle.
Markusson AB—Booth B6.127
The sharpening of sawing chains is a time-consuming job, particularly for workshops or forest enterprises. The automatic Sensomatic chain sharpener manufactured by Markusson may make work much easier for those who have to re-sharpen chains regularly. This device combines easy handling perfectly with robust technology and good sharpening results. As a new feature in sharpening tools of this type, the Sensomatic chain sharpener recognizes the left and right cutting teeth of a chain automatically. Time-consuming re-clamping is a thing of the past. The chain can be sharpened over its entire length in a single run. As its predecessor, Markusson Sensomatic simultaneously reworks the depth limiters and the tooth depth. Here, too, re-clamping has become superfluous. According to the manufacturer, additional technical advantages are the pre-installed air-cooling with compressor connection, an arrangement for the suction of chips by means of a vacuum, and lighting. The chain is clamped by means of air pressure.
Mounted on a forwarder/combi or a vehicle chassis, the wood-splitting machine [Keiler] is a patented global innovation that allows the processing of large quantities of firewood in a mobile way, with only one driver and without any setup times. The advantages lie in the significant reduction of the emission levels and the minimization of the accident risk that is associated with firewood processing as this type of work actually continues to be fraught with high risks in connection with conventional machines. During processing, the length of the firewood, which ranges from 20 cm to 100 cm, is freely selectable from within the cabin. The trunk wood to be processed may be 13 m long and have a diameter of 70 cm.

Wild Boar Protective Trousers
A few severe accidents in the past have led the KWF [Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology] and the Trade Association Good and Hospitality [Nahrungsmittel und Gastgewerbe—BGN] to establish a testing principle for wild boar protective trousers jointly. Now, wild boar protective trousers can be subjected to EC type testing for the first time ever, and are thus part of the PPE personal protective equipment. The testing procedure with a testing tooth made of steel is demonstrated at the exhibition booth of the KWF. Apart from EC type testing, the KWF offers a “function & comfort” test for wild boar protective trousers. The Nordforest wild boar protective trousers passed both tests with very good results. A unique feature is the protection insert made of specially woven and cut-resistant material incorporated in the security-relevant places of the trousers, as described by the standard. One layer of this material is already sufficient to ensure the promised protection. In addition to the protective material, the trousers incorporate a spacing fabric as an impact protection.

Wood-Mizer GmbH—Booth FM.712/8
With the stationary LX 450 narrow-belt sawmill, Wood-Mizer is the only manufacturer who can now also offer a double-rail system, apart from the tried and tested unilateral head duct. In addition to the great number of features by which the models of the LT40 and LT70 series are equipped, the LX series extends the performance capabilities of the professional Wood-Mizer saws. The basic structure of this model series is heavier and more robust. Since the saw is stationary, its weight does not have to be considered; weight is always the limiting factor for mobile saws, which, however, remain free from sawdust deposits. The struts are higher than the lateral frame, which makes it easier to load a trunk using a forklift instead of the hydraulic loading arms.
Wörmann—Booth FM Booth FM.812/17
At INTERFORST 2018, the trailer specialist WÖRMANN will present the agile tipper trailer DEBRIS as a highlight. The passenger car trailer has an electrohydraulic tipping and tilting device, a reinforced steel frame in a welded structure and continuously maintenance-free industrial axles. The progressively acting independent suspension shows best running characteristics even with extreme loads. DEBRIS is available in three versions: with a tipping tray, a container tipping platform with three-laterally removable side walls as well as a tipping platform without side walls.

Path maintenance device for the cost-efficient handling of water-bound surface layers over the entire width of the path for rear-side three-point mounting on agricultural. The SWO1 path maintenance device is suited for use in forest operations and operating communities. Its main application is the care of water-bound surface layers consisting of grit and gravels. Consistent surface layer maintenance using the SWO1 path maintenance device clearly prolongs the preservation of the longitudinal and cross profiles, improves water drainage and reduces the growth of grass and herbs in the transition from the roadside.
Zeller+Gmelin GmbH & Co. KG—Booth B6.202
As of now, Zeller+Gmelin features a new harvester oil in its range of products. The oil is based on renewable raw materials and has excellent properties in terms of adhesion, wear and corrosion protection. Optimum full lubrication in both summer and winter, even under difficult operating conditions due to high power reserves. This new oil reduces the wear and tear of the blade, chains and chain wheel. The criteria for the German “Blue Angel“ environmental label (RAL-UZ 178) as well as the test requirements of the German Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology (KWF) with respect to its fitness for use (test no. 8016) are also fulfilled.
Zieglmeier Hydraulik oHG—Booth FM.713/6
The new TITAN 42/20 Boothard firewood processor is small, light and can be connected to a tractor with 80 hp. Featuring a splitting power of 200 kN (20 t), it is suitable for splitting wood with a diameter of up to 42 cm. The control is fully electrohydraulic, and all functions are operated by means of an electronic control lever (joystick), which makes handling easier. The piston stroke can be set as required. It can be adjusted to the length of the wood billets, which shortens the splitting cycle by approx. 40 percent and reduces energy consumption. The trunk is sawn to a length of 25, 33, 40 or 50 cm by means of a strong and durable harvester blade, the size of the billets depending on the selected splitting wedge. The conveyer belt can be adjusted by 15° to the right and to the left. Special relieving springs (patented solution) facilitate folding and unfolding, thus causing less strain for the user.
